Product description
Rc controlled quadrocopter; fills the gap between conventional X-configuration quads and FPV racers.
Based on existing Vtail-configurated quads (Dialfonzo’s Quad, modified Tri copters) made out of carbon fibre plates the Spirit has a sleek shell and aesthetically design appearance inspired by
the forms and shapes of a dolphin hence great stability, aerodynamic performance and fantastic Yaw control. A sleek design in combination with 3D maneuverability results in great flying
performance and lots of fun: A quadcopter that looks and flies like an airplane.
Target audience (mostly men 8-88)
Since nowadays everybody is able to fly quadcopters in all shapes and sizes there for the target audience will be everybody who’s interested in RC flying or will be interested in the future. The
sleek design and aesthetically appearance wil trigger consumers to “Have One” or “Own one”
Project Requirements
• Injection molding shell (shell needs to be reconstructed in 3D according to existing digital 3D model)
• 4 Pancake style brushless outrunner motors 22XX-1200Kv?
• Flight controller (Cleanflight / X programming software) DJI Naza Lite, MiniNaze32
• Power distribution board
• Landing gear configuration
• Smart Lipo battery with status led indicator
• Leds for directional awareness
• 4 Props
• Rx and Tx
• Flight sim: HeliX, to practice your flight skills, (http://www.heli-x.info/cms/)
• Wiring sheme
Competitors
There are no commercial versions (to my knowledge) of a complete V-Tail quadcopter available. However you can order parts, from individuals (hobbyistst) to build and construct your own V-Tail
quadcopter, but that involves (electro) technical knowledge and understanding of programming and fine tuning a flight controller.
Flight Modes
• Rate/Acro mode: the Vtailquad will perform according to the Rx input of the pilot
• Horizon mode: when no input on Yaw, Elevator or Pitch the quad stays level (with horizon)
• Failsafe mode: in case of signal loss the quad will go in horizon mode, decent and lands automatically.
• Auto take off and land • Return home
• Follow transmitter
Production methods
